Bryanston welcomed nearly 400 pupils across two days of cricket as schools came together for the Bryanston Cricket Festival.
The festival brought together 22 teams in total, with the second day alone seeing 190 pupils involved. This included eight U11 teams taking part in a softball tournament and 11 U13 teams competing in a hardball tournament.
The format rewarded all-round performance, with the winning teams decided by the highest combined total of runs scored and wickets taken. Bryanston enjoyed a particularly successful festival, with both the U11A and U13A teams winning their respective age groups.
“It was great to see so many girls and boys playing and enjoying their cricket over the two days,” said Josh Digby, Head of Cricket at Bryanston. “We were thrilled to welcome so many pupils across both days and to see such a positive spirit of competition, teamwork and enjoyment.”
Cricket continues to be a growing and important part of the sporting pathway at Bryanston, from Prep through to Senior School. Pupils benefit from summer term cricket in PE and Games lessons, co-curricular clubs and one-to-one support with the Head of Cricket, helping players of all levels develop their skills and confidence.
The Prep School provision is closely connected to the wider Senior School programme, giving younger pupils access to specialist coaching, outstanding facilities and a clear pathway as they progress through the school. Boys and girls are encouraged to play, compete and develop within a shared cricket culture, supported by opportunities across both the Prep and Senior campuses.
Bryanston’s partnership with Dorset Cricket also continues to strengthen the programme, creating further opportunities for pupils to access high-quality coaching, competition and development. Alongside this, pupils benefit from the school’s wider sports provision, including strength and conditioning support, helping them build the physical foundations needed to enjoy and progress in the game.
The festival was a wonderful celebration of cricket, bringing together pupils from across the region and highlighting the strength of Bryanston’s developing cricket pathway.
