Under bright blue skies at Yeovil Athletics Arena, the team delivered an outstanding set of performances with personal bests, well fought victories and a superb relay finish.
One of the performances of the day came from Iris C, who stormed to victory in the 80m hurdles, winning by around eight metres in a commanding display. Iris also showed her versatility by taking second place in the javelin competition.
Otto B-B enjoyed an excellent day in the field and on the track, winning the high jump before battling hard to finish third in the 1500m.
Middle-distance runner Wilbur T produced a brilliant run in the 800m, taking first place and setting a new personal best in the process.
Sprint events brought more success for the team. Myles M powered to victory in the 100m, while Charlie H secured second place in the same race for a superb team result. Myles later added a third-place finish in the javelin.
Fabian G impressed across two disciplines, winning the discus and then sprinting to second place in the 200m. This was quickly followed by a track victory for Hal L, who finished first in the 300m with a strong performance, while Nile Q-C claimed first place in the shot put.
The day ended in style as the boys’ 4 x 100m relay team raced to first place in a time of 49.87 seconds, securing the overall win for their category and rounding off a fantastic day of athletics for the squad.
