Enrichment programme for Sixth Formers

Balance between teaching and learning at Bryanston encourages pupils to enhance their personal development and prepare for life beyond the school.

Developing interests and new skills is crucial and enrichment is at the core of our sixth form programme. The extensive provision of activities and programmes ensures there is something for everyone, running seamlessly alongside academic life.

Charity plays a significant part in life in the Sixth Form, giving pupils the chance to lead, organise and give back beyond the classroom. In the Upper Sixth, the A2 Charities Weekend sees pupils take the reins entirely, planning, fundraising and running a weekend of events in support of causes they care about, developing real leadership and organisational skills along the way. In the Lower Sixth, the A3 Festival brings the whole year group together for a vibrant celebration of creativity, community and charitable giving, setting the tone for the spirit of generosity that continues through their two years at Bryanston.

Boarding and social life

Many Bryanstonians say the friendships they forge during the Sixth Form last a lifetime. The boarding houses are close-knit communities or ‘families’ of pupils.

Sixth Formers enjoy single or double rooms with study space, as well as access to communal facilities such as kitchens and common rooms. The dedicated house team, including House Parents, Residents and a Matron provides support to every pupil.

Weekends at Bryanston are lively and filled with fun events and activities. Socials take place weekly, giving Sixth Formers the chance to gather informally and enjoy an evening together.

Upper Sixth (A2) pupils can visit the Sixth Form bar on Friday and Saturday evenings, and the Bryanston café is regularly open for those wanting to meet informally for a coffee or pizza.

We believe young people need the space to grow and develop, both physically and emotionally. Our 400-acre estate with extensive fields and an enchanting stretch of river, offers pupils a peaceful connection with nature.

Our facilities including a state-of-the-art sports centre (with swimming pool and gym), theatre, art, school, music school (complete with a sound studio), offer a range of activities to meet everyone’s needs.

The sense of belonging that Bryanston encourages in its beautiful surroundings has a profound and lasting impact upon all who live here. When Old Bryanstonians return, they recall fond memories of the people they spent so much time with during their formative years. Life at Bryanston remains vividly in their minds.

Speech Day & Leavers’ Ball

Bryanston’s A2 leavers mark the end of their journey here in style. The day begins with a leavers’ service at St Martin’s Church, followed by Speech Day held in the school’s stunning outdoor Greek Theatre, a uniquely Bryanston setting unlike anywhere else. Family, friends and staff then gather for lunch together on the lawn, celebrating everything pupils have achieved.

As evening falls, the celebrations continue at our renowned annual Leavers’ Ball, a glittering, much-anticipated occasion that brings pupils, families and staff together one last time, marking not just the end of Sixth Form, but the start of everything still to come.
