Winners of the LTA Youth Schools Division

13 March 2026

Congratulations to our girls’ tennis team for winning their division in the LTA Youth Schools Division at the end of last term.

The team comprised Olivia B, Bella B, Samantha V B, Finty V-S and they played against Talbot Heath, winning 5 rubbers to 1. All of the matches were competitive and closely fought, with Finty digging deep to win the final match on a tie-break.

The team played three pool matches on the way to the final against Wey Valley School (6 rubbers to 0), Lytchett Minster School (5 rubbers to 1), and a closely run fixture against Queen Elizabeth’s School Wimborne (4 rubbers to 3) which saw Bella and Finty winning the decisive tie-break shoot out 10-5. The team was due to play Sherborne in the semi-finals, but unfortunately, they needed to concede.

After the success of last year, we have entered three teams into this year’s tournament, including boys, girls and a team from Bryanston Prep. All of our teams are busy training for an exciting summer term of tennis.

Rob Butler was appointed Head of Tennis at the start of Spring term and is leading the way in strengthening our ambition to expand both participation and performance in the sport.

Rob commented: “This was an amazing effort from all the girls. It was fantastic to see them competing together as a team and enjoying their time on court. To top it all off by winning the division made the school immensely proud of their achievement. This success puts them in a great position for the exciting tennis fixtures coming up in the summer term.”

Our Tennis Camp (non-residential) runs from 30 March until 1 April, aimed at ages 9-14, and will provide on-court coaching drills to help players develop fundamental skills and advance game tactics. Aimed at children of all levels, the course will provide access to high quality coaching, led by Rob Butler, set amongst our amazing grounds and access to our sports facilities.
