It has been a busy summer for Bryanston Prep riders, packed with sports fixtures, camps, and most exciting of all a fantastic two days at Hickstead.
Our 40cm team of Max H, Fleur A and Poppy M finished an outstanding 2nd in the country as a team, out of entries from across the whole of the UK. Individually, Max also placed 2nd, with Poppy finishing 20th and Fleur 35th, out of a field of over 100 competitors. A superb result all round.
In the 50cm class, Poppy put in another great performance to finish 14th, with Max placing 65th, again among more than 100 riders. Fleur ran into a few communication issues with Sebastian mid-round and was sadly eliminated but true to her spirit, she carried on and completed the course with a smile on her face throughout.
Bertie B produced one of the most beautiful rounds of the weekend in the 70cm class, finishing 35th out of over 100 competitors. This was a fantastic way to cap off his time at Prep.
It wasn’t the easiest couple of days for Edward L, who took a disappointing fall in the warm-up class on day one and was later eliminated in the 70cm. But Edward didn’t let that dampen his spirit for a moment. He was there for his teammates throughout, cheering from the sidelines and keeping everyone’s energy up with a steady supply of ice creams! Edward will be representing the school again next week, back at Hickstead for the Sunshine Tour. We wish him the very best of luck.
Hickstead was a particularly special occasion for Bertie and Poppy, marking the end of their equestrian journey at Prep before they move on to the Senior School. We wish them both well.
Beyond the ribbons and results, what made this trip so special was the atmosphere. Staff, parents and pupils all came together to offer enthusiastic and friendly support.
It was a hugely enjoyable two days, with everyone riding beautifully and showing true Bryanston spirit from start to finish. Well done to everyone involved.
