Bryanston enjoyed two brilliant days of football this week, welcoming young players from prep schools across the region for our U8/U9 and U11 Football Festivals.
The action began with the U8/U9 Festival, which saw an impressive 31 teams from 12 prep schools take to the pitches. With the focus firmly on enjoyment, participation and giving young players plenty of opportunities to play, there was a fantastic spirit throughout the day.
We were also delighted to welcome the AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust on both days. Their team provided a range of fun football activities and games for pupils to enjoy during rest periods, adding another dimension to two action-packed days.
The following day saw 13 prep schools arrive at Bryanston for the U11 Festival, which took on a competitive tournament format. Teams battled their way through group matches before progressing to the semi-finals and final, with penalty shootouts adding plenty of drama as sides competed for qualification.
After an exciting day of football, Heath Mount were crowned U11 Festival champions. Congratulations to them and to every team that took part and contributed to such a positive and competitive occasion.
The weather certainly played its part, with the sun shining throughout both days, while music around the pitches helped create a lively festival atmosphere for players, staff and spectators.
The pitches themselves were also in superb condition and provided a brilliant setting for the festivals. A huge thank you must go to Bryanston’s Grounds Team for all their hard work in preparing and maintaining them so beautifully.
Across the two days, Bryanston welcomed teams from Bryanston Prep, Sandroyd, Leehurst Swan, BCS, Leweston, Chafyn Godolphin, Millfield Prep, Perrott Hill, Monkton Combe, Port Regis, Salisbury Cathedral School, Sherborne Prep, Castle Court, Clayesmore Prep, Dumpton, Durlston Court, Heath Mount, Sunninghill and Walhampton.
The football continues next Wednesday when Bryanston hosts its U13 Festival, with another 16 prep schools set to join us for what promises to be another fantastic day of sport.
