Three Bryanston pupils offered places at Conservatoires

In a recent assembly, Head Richard Jones announced the fantastic news that not one, but three, Bryanston pupils have been offered places at Conservatoires.

Three Bryanston pupils have been offered places at Conservatoires. L-R: Evelyn C, Mimi R, Anna S.

Anna S and Evelyn C have been offered places at Trinity Laban Conservatoire for singing and flute respectively, and Mimi R has been given an unconditional offer to study piano at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.

Director of Music Xavier Iles commented: “We are all delighted that Anna, Mimi, and Evelyn have secured places at Conservatoires and will continue to grow and flourish as musicians. I am immensely proud of their achievements which would not have been possible without many hours of hard work and practice. They have enriched the musical life of the School with their talent and they will be greatly missed when they leave us later this year.”

Anna S joined us in D and came from Bryanston Prep (Knighton House as it was known then). She is a talented singer, clarinettist, and saxophonist. She has been offered a place to study singing at Trinity Laban Conservatoire.

Evelyn C joined us from Hong Kong and plays the flute, piccolo, clarinet, piano, guitar, and pipa (a Chinese lute). She has been offered a place at Trinity Laban Conservatoire to study flute.

Mimi R is a pianist, viola player and singer. She has been offered a place to study piano at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.

Mr Iles continued: “They have all received tuition from our outstanding team of visiting music teachers and been busy members of our ensemble music programme. All three are in our Chamber Choir and orchestra as well as regularly giving solo performances. They will also all be performing solos with orchestra in our upcoming Spring Concert at Christchurch. Mimi will play the 2nd movement of Rachmaninov’s 2nd Piano Concerto, Anna will be singing Faure’s Après un Reve, and Evelyn will be playing the 1st movement of Mozart’s Flute Concerto in D.”
