Bryanston announces the appointment of Titus Edge as the first Executive Head of Bryanston starting in January 2027.
Titus brings with him nearly thirty years’ experience of leadership in independent schools in the UK and overseas. For the past six years, he has been Headmaster of St Paul’s in São Paulo, one of the leading British schools internationally. He began his career at City of London School for Boys, was then Head of History at Dulwich College before moving to Gordonstoun, where he was first Deputy Head and then Head. He is married to Marina, and they have three grown-up children. They also have longstanding family connections with Bryanston and the local area.
His appointment comes at an important moment for Bryanston as it moves into a new group structure. As Executive Head, Titus will have responsibility across the Bryanston Group, currently comprising Bryanston, Bryanston Prep and Thorngrove School, which joined the Group last month, subject to the necessary approvals. The Group is also exploring further opportunities for growth, both in the UK and internationally, as it looks to share the Bryanston ethos with more pupils and families.
Eric Benedict, Chair of Governors at Bryanston, said:
“We are delighted to appoint Titus as the first Executive Head of Bryanston. He brings exceptional experience as a highly successful Head in both the UK and internationally, combined with a clear understanding of Bryanston’s distinctive ethos. The pupils, staff and governors who met him during the recruitment process were struck by his authenticity and understanding of what makes Bryanston so distinctive. This is an important moment for Bryanston as we look ahead to the next stage of the school’s development.”
Speaking about his appointment, Titus Edge said:
“I am delighted to be appointed Executive Head of Bryanston, one of the most iconic independent schools in the country. I have long admired the school for its commitment to the individual, its distinctive philosophy, its genuine sense of community and its ambition for the young people it serves. This is a hugely exciting opportunity to build on what has been achieved under Richard’s leadership and to work with an outstanding team to develop a bright and ambitious future for the Bryanston Group.”
Titus will succeed Richard Jones, who will leave Bryanston at the end of next term before taking up his new role in Dubai in January 2027.
Eric Benedict added:
“On behalf of the Governors, I would like to recognise Richard Jones’s outstanding contribution to Bryanston. He has brought great energy and commitment to the school and has played an important role in the development of the Bryanston Group, including the recent acquisition of Thorngrove. He leaves with our sincere thanks and very best wishes.”
