On Thursday 9th October, a team of four of our talented tennis players travelled to Talbot Heath school to compete in the finals of the LTA Youth Schools Year 9 and 10 competition and returned victorious.
To earn their place in the final, the team had already overcome strong opposition from Wey Valley, Lytchett Minster, and QE Wimborne during the summer term, finishing top of their Dorset pool.
The finals followed the usual LTA format, with four singles matches and two doubles matches played between the schools’ top-ranked players.
Representing the school were Bella and Olivia B, Finty VS, and Sam VB. All four players delivered outstanding performances, demonstrating teamwork, resilience, and skill throughout the afternoon.
Their efforts paid off with an impressive 5-1 victory in the final. The final singles match provided a dramatic finish as Finty fought hard through a tense tie-break to secure the win, a fitting end to a long and exciting day of tennis.
Congratulations to the whole team on a fantastic achievement and for proudly representing the school at county level.
