Clarinet and Saxophone (VMT)
Neyire Ashworth’s career as clarinet soloist, chamber musician, actor and educator, orchestral musician and inter-disciplinary artist spans 40 years.
As a young musician Neyire was a member of the National Youth Orchestra, woodwind prizewinner in BBC’s Young Musician Competition, a Countess of Munster Award beneficiary, and a Live Music Now! Artist, making her London solo debut at the Southbank Centre as a Park Lane Group Young Artist.
Recent work includes prize-winning solo show Stolen Voices, instrumental theatre piece Stenclmusic, 8 years on National Theatre/West End show War Horse and nomination for a Paul Hamlyn Artist’s Award; a founder member of the New London Chamber Ensemble and currently freelancing with several orchestras including Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and London Mozart Players.
Neyire has been professor of clarinet at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Juniors for 20 years supporting motivated young musicians fulfill their potential, and having previously taught at St Paul’s Girls School & Queen Elizabeth Boy’s School, Barnet, now is happy to be a member of the music department at Bryanston.
