Over 780 young athletes from 30 local schools came together for the second consecutive year at Bryanston to take part in the Knight Frank Schools Triathlon, the UK’s largest fundraising event for children.
Swimming, cycling, and running, these young triathletes collectively covered more than 1,700k, roughly the distance from Blandford to Valencia, and raised an incredible £58,000 for youth charity Restless Development and over 30 other charities selected by participating schools.
Among the standout moments of the day was the top fundraising team, The Olive Green, from Port Regis School, who raised £1,550. When asked why fundraising matters, they answered, “To help people who don’t have as much of a chance in life.”
This Bryanston event is part of a national 12-event series organised by Restless Development, aiming to raise over £1.2 million between May and June. Last year alone, the global charity worked with over 288,000 young people to empower them to lead change in their communities.
Thanks to generous support from sponsors Knight Frank and Neilson Beach Clubs, all funds raised go directly to charity, supporting grassroots initiatives around the world.
Hosting the event for a second year, Bryanston welcomed over 2,000 attendees, including participants, families, volunteers, and local businesses from the local community.
Commenting on the event, Richard Jones, Head of Bryanston School, said, “Building on the success of last year, we were thrilled to host the Knight Frank Schools Triathlon once again. We were so pleased to welcome participants and spectators to Bryanston for another remarkable day. The event brought together over 750 pupils from 30 local schools for an exciting day of running, swimming, and cycling, raising an incredible amount of money for charity.”
