Bryanston has appointed Robert Butler, an accomplished coach and former national-level player as its new Head of Tennis, strengthening the school’s ambition to grow participation and performance across the sport.
Rob competed at national level, travelling across the UK for tournaments, and represented Dorset County Tennis. Alongside a Level 3 coaching qualification, he brings broad experience from Wimborne Tennis Club, where he coached players from beginner through county, regional and national levels, and led county training sessions for Dorset. His track record includes guiding three players onto the national pathway, each achieving a top-10 county ranking in their age group.
“I am thrilled to be joining the team at Bryanston as Head of Tennis,” Rob said. “I am looking forward to developing the school’s tennis programme, making the most of its outstanding facilities, and contributing to the inspiring culture that makes Bryanston such a special place for sport and personal growth.”
Rory McCann, Bryanston’s Director of Sport, added, “We are delighted to welcome Rob to the team at Bryanston. His outstanding reputation speaks for itself, and we have no doubt that he will further enhance the tennis provision we provide across both the prep and senior school. As part of our long-term vision and commitment to tennis at Bryanston, we will also be exploring opportunities to further enhance our tennis facilities, club partnerships, and deepen connections with our OB network to enrich the programme and inspire future generations. As well as developing local talent in Dorset and the Southwest, there is no doubt that tennis has a global outreach and will support our thriving boarding community, all onsite alongside a world class education.”
