David James

Deputy Head Academic

Dr David James is Bryanston’s Deputy Head Academic and is responsible for all academic matters at the School.

David has previously worked in a number of high-profile public schools including Wellington College and was seconded to the DfE to work on an independent/state schools partnership project.

David is an experienced inspector for ISI and has been appointed to the inspectorate’s Education Advisory Forum. He is a director of IBSCA, which represents all IB schools in the UK. He is published widely, is a columnist for the Times Educational Supplement and has recently co-edited a book on the challenges facing the independent sector.

David is married to Yvonne and has three children. He is rather too interested in the fortunes of Manchester City FC.
