CLOSING DATE FOR ENTRIES FRIDAY 12 DECEMBER 2025

Please send a pdf copy of all the music to be performed by FRIDAY 9 JANUARY.

Venue: Elder Concert Hall, Bryanston School

Provisional timings of classes:

Elementary – grade 2 and grades 3-4: 10am – 1pm
Grades 5-6, Grades 7-8, Trinity Laban String Award: 2pm – 5:30pm

Nic Pendlebury (Head of Strings, Trinity Laban, London),
Clare Rowntree (Head of Music and Performing Arts, Wells Cathedral Prep School)

Applications from previous winners of the grades 7-8  class will only be accepted if entered into the Trinity Laban String Award class.  Please also note that applications from previous winners of the Trinity Laban String Award cannot be accepted.

Elementary – grade 2 (£10)

4 mins max. One or two pieces of elementary standard ie Grade 1 or 2.
Prize: £10 voucher

Grades 3-4 (£10)

5 mins max. One or two pieces of Grade 3 or 4 standard.
Prize: £10 voucher

Grades 5-6 (£12)

8 mins max. One or two pieces of grade 5 or 6 standard.
Prize: £15 voucher

Grades 7-8 (£12)

10 mins max. One or two pieces of grade 7 or 8 standard.
Prize: £15 voucher

Trinity Laban String Award (£15)

15 mins max. Two or three pieces of contrasting style and period of advanced standard ie above grade 8. We strongly recommend you bring your own accompanist. The prize for this class will include the opportunity to experience a bespoke day as a student at Trinity Laban. In addition, there is the opportunity for the winner of this award to play a solo with string orchestra at the Trinity Laban String Day at Bryanston which usually takes place in November.
Monetary award: £50 voucher
