Rosslyn Park National Schools Sevens

During the last week of term, the U16 and U18 rugby sevens team competed in the Rosslyn Park National Schools Sevens Tournament.

U16

The U16 team had a tough start to the tournament facing a Bromsgrove side. After a challenging game, they unfortunately lost 38-12. The team bounced back with an impressive performance against, St George’s, Weybridge winning 33-14. Bryanston took that form into the start of the next game against Simon Langton, however they eventually lost 24-7. After a long break the last opponents were UCS. Bryanston competed very competitively, but lost on 19-7.

Well done to all the Bryanston pupils involved, it was a tough group and there was some great sevens rugby displayed.

U18

Bryanston U18 squad played some excellent sevens throughout the day, winning 43-5 against Gordon’s School, 24-17 against Leicester Grammar and 28-26 vs Truro School. It was the first game in the group, against eventual Vase Quarter finalists Oakham, in which Bryanston unfortunately lost 33-21, which prevented them from proceeding to the next stage.

Some excellent performances from the whole squad, with a special mention going to Rory A and Israel W who worked hard to battle back from long-term injuries to play a big part in a successful day.
