D Historians visit WW1 Battlefields
Published: 25 April 2017
Over the Easter holidays 38 D pupils visited the World War One battlefields in Belgium and France.
With a day spent around Ypres and then two days on the Somme, pupils visited preserved trench systems, underground tunnels, memorials and cemeteries.
It was also made very personal for a number of individuals who made particular pilgrimages to sites of special significance for them and their families. At the end of the trip Sam M and Grace Y represented the school by laying a wreath at the Canadian Memorial on Vimy Ridge during a short service of remembrance.
Well done to all the Ds who participated and many thanks to all the staff who supported the trip.
