Bryanston pupils win at Stonar School ISODE

Sunday 17 May was a perfect day for the equestrian centre at Bryanston.

Bryanston pupils Louisa, Laura, Sophie and Louisa  successfully represented Bryanson in Stonar School’s prestigious one-day event (ODE) on 17 May. A one-day event consists of three equestrian disciplines, dressage, show jumping and cross-country.

Every school competing each year at Stonar strive to be placed, let alone win and this year was Bryanston’s turn.

Louisa Harman, riding her horse Comanche Colours (Mannie), won her individual section. Laura Hemsley riding Ballyhean Bob, Sophie Moody riding Burren Lad and Louisa Harman on Manni won their team class, overshadowing other schools such as Millfield and Stonar who also have equestrian centres at school. Louisa Fairhurst was also part of the winning team, however the best three scores are taken into consideration for final placings.

Oli Hadden Wight, Martha Allhusan and Lucy Ferguson made up our second team, with Lucy achieving a credible 8th place in her section. Oli and Lucy had double clears in the jumping and cross country. All three riders rode brilliantly and effectively but unfortunately incurred some time penalties cross country.

Congratulations to all riders and thank you to all parents for supporting the day. Thank you also to the Bryanston Parents Association for kindly donating the new Bryanston Numnahs.
