Bryanston's Bs receive excellent set of GCSE results

Bryanston’s B year group has received an excellent set of GCSE results today. The last 18 months have been like no other, with exams being cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic and months of periodic closures.

The pupils have shown outstanding commitment to their learning during this time and their success today is well deserved. Of course, they have received outstanding support from home and school and today’s results reflect how the whole Bryanston community has worked together to ensure these young people can progress so successfully to the next stage of their education.

Deputy Head Academic Steven Green, commented: “This group of students has displayed tremendous dedication to their academic study, in the most demanding of circumstances. The skills they have shown, to be able to adapt quickly and learn in new ways, will only enhance them as individuals. We are so proud of them and the results they have achieved.”

Following the internal assessment period, the B pupils continued to challenge themselves by gaining new qualifications and learning new skills as part of Bryanston’s end of term programme, organised by Head of B Year, George Drake. Qualifications included: Bronze DofE, ESB Public Speaking, NPLQ Lifeguarding and RFU rugby coaching. Our pupils experienced a set of different focus days and challenges, the highlights including ‘devising new content for the PSRE curriculum’, ‘B film in a day’ and ‘The Apprentice meets Dragons’ Den: Bry Edition’.

Mr Drake commented: “The pupils finished the term with two weeks of Pre-Sixth Form courses where they had the opportunity to trial and sink their teeth into their prospective Sixth Form subject choices. I must commend the patience, stamina and resilience this year group has shown throughout this year, and I wish them all the best of luck with their future studies.”
