A3 Festival supports Schoolreaders

This weekend sees the return of our annual A3 Festival (15-16 May) and it looks to be as creative and colourful as ever before, with an explosion of plays, music, fashion and art throughout the School.

For the first time, we are introducing a fundraising element to our A3 Festival and are supporting the Schoolreaders charity.

Every A3 pupil will be attempting to run, jog or walk a half marathon around the main school building for the ‘Race for Reading’ challenge over the course of this week – this equates to 55 laps! All of the funds raised will go to Schoolreaders to help children in local primary schools catch up with vital reading skills.

Head of Charities and Community Engagement Hannah Fearnley commented: “It was wonderful to see the A3s gather together at the weekend to start running their half marathon.

“A3 pupil Emily S carried an Olympic torch to kick off the ‘Race for Reading’ initiative, which requires every A3 pupil to aim to raise £15 each for the Schoolreaders charity. Together, let’s help prevent 1 in 4 children leaving school without the appropriate literacy levels.”
