MOSAIC ‘Family Day’ held at Bryanston

On Sunday 19 January a group of Bryanston pupils took part in an event with local charity MOSAIC, which supports bereaved families throughout Dorset. Sixteen children aged 10–17 arrived for an afternoon of fun at the Sports Centre.

A3 pupil Elin H reports: “It was a really fun afternoon where families came along and had the opportunity to use the bouldering wall and then go swimming if they wanted to. The parents were able to chat with each other whilst their children were meeting new people and trying new activities.

“Some children were apprehensive initially but overcame this and quickly became confident on the bouldering wall. It was lovely for everyone to get to know each other as they were all incredibly diverse. To finish the afternoon, we enjoyed sandwiches and cakes provided by the catering staff.

“I think this was a great experience for everyone involved as it gave us something to do outside of our daily routine, and it reminded those from Bryanston that not everything is perfect outside the Bryanston bubble, especially since many of us are yet to experience a large loss in our lives.”

One parent commented that the Bryanston pupils had shown great care and kindness and were a huge credit to the School. The pupils are now planning their next 'Family Day' for MOSAIC and hope to be able to organise some cookery, art and drama workshops.
