D Shakespeare Monologue Competition
On the final Tuesday of term, 13 D pupils performed in the final of the D Shakespeare Monologue Competition which was held in Robson Fisher and judged by our very own Mrs Quan.

It was fantastic to listen to monologues from a range of plays, including ‘Romeo and Juliet’, ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’, ‘Merchant of Venice’ and ‘Macbeth’, which were all chosen by the pupils themselves. The pupils were a brilliant and supportive audience for each other and it was wonderful to see each of them conquering their nerves and giving their best performances.
After much deliberation, Mrs Quan awarded the following prizes:
1st Place – Mia G for her superb performance of Juliet, where she took charge of the space around her to really add meaning to her monologue.
2nd Place – Ava B for her confident performance of Portia, where each line was confidently expressed and conveyed to the audience.
Highly commended: Emily H, Teni A, Pippa D and Aurelia D.
