Our young riders enjoyed a fantastic day of competition at the Moreton Showjumping event on Sunday 16th November, returning home with a host of rosettes, team wins and plenty of personal bests. The children represented the school superbly, demonstrating determination and real team spirit throughout the day.
In the 40cm class, our riders dominated the leaderboard. Max and Frankie L were in the leading section with Olivia A securing 3rd in a very competitive field. Fleur A also produced a brilliant round, showing huge progress since her last outing and narrowly missing out on the placings. Their combined efforts saw the team of Edward L, Max H and Olivia A clinch 1st place in the team competition.
The success continued in the 50cm class, where the team of Edward L, Kit B, Olivia A and Sofia A jumped superbly to win another 1st place team rosette. Individually, Kit B finished 3rd, while Edward impressed the judges to be awarded “Most Stylish Rider”, a lovely recognition of his effective and elegant riding.
As the heights increased, our riders continued to rise to the challenge. In the 60cm and 70cm classes, Jess F produced two consistent and accurate rounds, earning 5th place in both. At the top end of the day, Alexa rode in the 85cm and 95cm classes, delivering some fantastic rounds and showing great improvement and bravery over the bigger fences.
In the 20-30cm unaffiliated class, Max H rode a confident round to finish 2nd, closely followed by Freya DLH in 3rd.
Overall, it was a hugely successful outing for the Prep School. Beyond the results, staff were particularly proud of the way pupils supported one another and cheered on their teammates.
