A2 and A3 History of Art pupils enjoyed an action-packed visit to London last week as part of their studies, taking in some of the capital’s most important artistic and architectural landmarks.
The day began at St Paul’s Cathedral, where pupils explored the building’s iconic interior before walking on to St Stephen Walbrook, timed perfectly to hear the choir rehearsing. The group then headed to the National Gallery to see key works up close.
In the afternoon, pupils visited Rodin’s Burghers of Calais in Victoria Tower Gardens, to get a sense of the sculpture in its public setting, before finishing the day at Tate Britain. The trip offered a valuable opportunity to experience world-class art first-hand.
