Saturday 21st March was everything a gymkhana should be – full of sunshine, smiles, and a wonderful sense of community packed into a brilliant afternoon.
The sun shone throughout, giving us the perfect spring backdrop for a memorable few hours. Around 30 children took part, supported by families. There was a real feeling of encouragement, with everyone cheering each other on and celebrating every effort.
A huge part of the afternoon’s success was thanks to the fantastic team who helped everything run so smoothly. Special mention must go to Jess F, our brilliant Deputy Head Girl and Riding Captain, whose energy and organisation were invaluable. She was superbly supported by Poppy M, Sofia A, Ollie S, and Edward L, all of whom worked incredibly hard behind the scenes and throughout the event.
The ponies themselves were a true highlight, decorated beautifully with colourful ribbons and wonderfully creative themes bringing so much fun and personality to the afternoon and admired by everyone.
A big thank you also to Liz and the catering department for providing a fantastic selection of cakes and sausage rolls, which were enjoyed by riders, helpers, and spectators throughout the afternoon.
What really stood out above all else was the incredible community spirit. From helping hands to supportive cheers, it was an afternoon that brought everyone together and reminded us all why these events are so special.
All in all, a fantastic afternoon enjoyed by everyone.
