Young Entrepreneurs Take Part in 10X Business Challenge

21 November 2025

In the lead up to Bryanston’s renowned annual Charities Weekend, Year 10 (C) GCSE business pupils took part in the Bryanston 10X Challenge. The initiative gave pupils the chance to pitch their creative business ideas to a panel, comprised of the Charities Prefect, Head of Entrepreneurship & Innovation (E&I), staff from the Business and Economics Department and members of the school marketing team.

The pitches showcased a variety of innovative ideas including milkshakes, travelling photo booths, Sour Squad, Fast Mug, golf putting and House of Stickers to name a few. Each team was tasked with creating a logo, conducting market research, running cost and pricing analysis to consider their break-even point and understanding the practical and logistical implications of running a stall to raise money for charity. They were also evaluated on their target audience suitability, marketing strategies and presentation skills.

The winning teams, Floss & Co, Fast Mug and Hot & Sweet had the opportunity to run their stalls at the Charities Fair, collectively raising over £425 in sales.

In addition, an A2 CTEC business group sold strawberries with melted chocolate and various toppings. This was part of their coursework, requiring them to research, plan, purchase ingredients and set it up themselves after getting all aspects of the stall signed off from all necessary departments in the school, from senior deputy head to catering and health and safety. Impressively, the group sold out within an hour, raising over £160 in sales.

Rose Ings, Head of Business and Economics, praised the pupils’ efforts, saying, “I want to congratulate all the pupils who took part. They gained invaluable experience presenting and pitching their business ideas to the panel and applying their skills to raise funds for a worthy cause.”

Caroline de Mowbray, Head of E&I, added, “I was incredibly impressed by the entrepreneurial skills displayed by pupils, as well as their teamwork, presentation skills and how they tackled questions.”
