Prestigious Arkwright Engineering Scholarship awarded to Bryanston Year 11 pupil

20 May 2026

We are delighted to announce that one of our Year 11 (B) pupils, James W, has been awarded an Arkwright Engineering Scholarship, continuing a long line of successful Bryanston pupils.

The Arkwright Scholarship is managed by the Smallpeice Trust whose mission is to recognise and support high-potential students as they progress into engineering, computing, and technical design. As one of the most prestigious awards for aspiring young engineers, the scholarship provides invaluable support, mentorship and industry connections to help shape the future of engineering.

James is fascinated by problem-solving and solving practical maths problems. He is looking to study Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering at Oxford, Cambridge or Imperial. He commented: “The Arkwright Scholarship means a lot to me because, as someone who has always enjoyed finding creative solutions to real-world problems, it will help me pursue the engineering related subjects that I enjoy: Design & Technology and Physics. In the future, I hope to go into aerospace engineering, as some of the companies I find most interesting are NASA and SpaceX, both of which are leading space exploration.”

We will be offering Sixth Form Design & Technology scholarships from September 2027. Please click below to contact our friendly Admissions team and find out more.
