Former pupil Jack Ockenden achieves 5th fastest overall run in the Asian/European Triathlon Championships 2025

12 September 2025

Former pupil Jack Ockenden (D ’25) competed in the 2025 Asian/European Triathlon Championships held in Istanbul, Turkey, at the end of August.

Director of Sport Rory McCann commented: “We’d like to congratulate Jack on achieving the fifth fastest overall run in the Championships and for placing 20th in a crowd of Asian and European triathletes after his strong performances in swimming, cycling and running. An incredible success story!”

Athletes competed across continents, swimming in the Bosphorus Strait and cycling over the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge, an iconic course that links Asia and Europe.

Jack commented: “I am extremely lucky to have had this opportunity, and I am so grateful to Bryanston for supporting me, from early morning training sessions to sponsoring my kit. It has been a great help to me and has supported my development significantly.”

Bryanston runs a dedicated ‘Swim, Bike, Run’ programme and pupils can access the programme from Years 11-13, across all three terms. Sports scholars are able to access the programme from Year 9 onwards.

We cater for athletes of all abilities from the recreational swimmer to the international triathlete. At each session the athletes can choose between swimming, cycling and running, giving them the flexibility to choose how much of each sport they do.
