In the Spring term, we announced that C pupil (Year 10), Lizzy O, was selected to join the National Youth Music Theatre (NYMT). We’re delighted to announce that in addition to Lizzy, four other pupils have impressed the National Youth Theatre (NYT) panel with their one-on-one auditions and interviews and have been selected to join the company.
Elinor G and Tuta H in B (Year 11), Lila P-B in Year 12 (A3) and Bea O’S in Year 13 (A2) have been selected out of over 1,000 applicants to join NYT.
Bryanston’s Director of Performing Arts, Vicki Green, added, “We are so proud of all the girls for this remarkable achievement. It is brilliant to have one pupil accepted, but to have five is extraordinary. They worked so hard in preparation for their auditions. Mrs O’Neill and I look forward to watching Lizzy at the Hippodrome in Birmingham in August. I’d also like to personally congratulate Bea O’S in the 18+ category as this is a particularly strong category with a lot of applicants and she should be very proud.
Vicki added: “It was the first time we have hosted National Youth Theatre auditions at Bryanston for a workshop and we look forward to building on this moving forwards. We hope to make this an annual event in our Performing Arts calendar and in future invite pupils from other schools; as we build our portfolio of events to become a Performing Arts hub for the South West.”
