Another fun-filled and busy week at Bryanston Prep’s Forest School

21 November 2025

Another fun-filled and busy week at Forest School for all year groups at Bryanston Prep. Despite the chill, pupils enjoyed getting stuck into making frames for our art project collaboration, crafted from whittled apple wood and masking tape. Lots of gloves, hats and warm layers to enjoy the sessions.

Children have been working on developing their tool skills – sawing, whittling, and knife work – which has led to some fantastic creations like clay owls, wooden wind-chimes and even a wooden truck from the nursery. The recent stick shooters were a huge hit, resulting in a request to build a giant stick shooter, definitely one to be saved for the Spring term.

Christmas decorations are the favourite right now, whittled wooden trees, elves and father Christmases have started to make an appearance, with everyone getting into the festive spirit and making some lovely things to take home.

Dawn Ball, Head of Forest School, added: “All in all, another great week outdoors with fires lit and hot chocolate drunk. I can’t wait for the next one.”
