Congratulations to Bryanston’s outgoing A2 (Upper Sixth) year group, who received an outstanding set of A Level and CTEC results today. 95 per cent of pupils applying to university this year secured a place at one of their top choices, with 87 per cent being accepted by their firm choice destination. One in nine of all A Level grades awarded were at A* with 88 per cent of all grades awarded A*-C, which is the highest percentage since 2016 (excluding Covid) highlighting the dedication and hard work of this year group.
Our pupils who studied the CTEC qualification, which is a more vocational pathway equivalent to two A Levels, also achieved a fantastic set of results. Most took these alongside A Levels, with 50 per cent of the cohort achieving double Distinctions (either D*D or DD) which equates to gaining A*A (104 points) or AA (96 points) at A Level.
This success builds on the school’s IB results in July, in which pupils achieved an average successful Diploma score of 34 points, significantly higher than the global mean of 30.58.
Continuing Bryanston’s long-standing reputation for outstanding university destinations, our pupils have submitted applications to 14 countries worldwide, including the USA, Canada, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and beyond. Our pupils will take up places this September at a wide range of Universities including the University of Cambridge, the University of Oxford and Columbia (US).
Equally as impressive is the diverse range of subjects they will be studying from Liberal Arts at Bristol to Industrial Design at Loughborough and from Fine Art at Edinburgh to Medical Engineering at Southampton.
It is also wonderful to see a significant number of pupils pursuing courses in Business and Entrepreneurship, along with those joining leading Music, Art, Drama and Film schools. This reflects their diverse interests and the school’s focus on Entrepreneurship and the Performing Arts.
Head Richard Jones commented: “Congratulations to all our A2 pupils on your A Level, IB, and CTEC results. Your achievements show there is no single ‘type’ of pupil at Bryanston. Our personalised, university-style approach to education has enabled all of you to flourish in your own way. It is equally inspiring to see the breadth of talent in this year group – including sportsmen and women, dancers, DJs, actors, and musicians – who have thrived academically while making the most of Bryanston’s rich co-curricular opportunities.”
Liz Thornton, Head of Sixth Form, added: “These results are a testament to an exceptional group of young people who are dedicated to achieving their own goals. It’s wonderful to see so many securing university places of their choice and pursuing such a wide range of pathways beyond Bryanston. This reflects the depth and diversity of our Sixth Form offering.”
