A Level Drama pupils visit Shakespeare's Globe

Earlier this week our A Level Drama pupils enjoyed a tour of Shakespeare's Globe, took part in a workshop with a professional director and also enjoyed performing some 'Hamlet' on stage.

After a tour of Shakespeare's Globe, our A Level Drama pupils performed an extract from 'Hamlet' on the stage, which was very special. Pupils also participated in a workshop at the Globe, which saw them working closely with a professional director who has directed multiple plays internationally and at the Globe itself.

The group then visited the Tate Modern, to see how a different art form can influence theatre.

Head of Academic Drama Ms Simonds commented: "We were so lucky to watch 'The Burnt City', an immersive play by Punchdrunk. This is a genre of theatre that none of the pupils have seen before. It breaks boundaries, immerses the audience and enables the pupils to think about the possibilities of theatre in a different way.

"The pupils were a credit to the school throughout the day."
