We are proud of our impressive and wide-ranging ECA programme, with around 100 extracurricular activities offered each term. BryNature is one of our newest additions to the programme, having launched in September 2024.
Coming to the end of its first year, we’re pleased to share with you our annual newsletter report, highlighting key sightings and future plans. Standout sightings include white tailed eagles, the polecat, mandarin ducks, merlins and otters.
Led by Dan Stokes, Deputy General Manager (Catering), our BryNature ECA aims to unite pupils in celebrating the biodiversity around the campus, encourage pupils to explore our incredible grounds and keep tabs on any special nature sightings.
Ava in Year 13 (A2) commented: “BryNature ECA raises awareness for the amazing grounds surrounding us, and allows for a break from the usual day to day life, enabling us to explore not only the wildlife but also to integrate ourselves within the nature we have access to. While we spend a lot of our time on walks simply enjoying the nature and animal spotting, we also try to use our ECA to improve the wildlife through ideas such as nature reserves. However, it is also an opportunity to spread the message about the opportunities we have. From seeing deer families on a Sunday walk to planning new nature reserves, the Bryanston nature ECA is extremely fun.”
