Pupils complete 35-mile Ten Tors Challenge 2017

On 5 - 7 May, a team of six C pupils comprising Charlie B, Adam C, Katia M, Felix H and Angus P, with team captain Charlie E, took part in the Ten Tors 2017.

Located on Dartmoor and involving 2,500 participants, split into over 400 teams, Ten Tors is a hike over the rough terrain of Dartmoor, visiting ten nominated tors (checkpoints) in under two days. The teams must be self-sufficient, carrying all that they need to complete their route and stay out over night safely. The weather can be very changeable and, at times, quite extreme, and success or failure can depend very much on the extent to which a team has been trained for all eventualities.

The Bryanston team completed the 35-mile, two-day challenge in good spirits. Wet feet, heavy bags, nasty blisters and aching muscles did not stop the team navigating their Ten Tors and finishing with smiles on their faces.
