English trips and events

The English Department hold a number of trips and events each year to encourage pupils to look at the world of English outside of school life.

Recently, pupils have attended an evening of poetry in the company of Simon Armitage reading from his new anthology, experienced a number of professional live theatre events, including Jonathan Miller’s King Lear at The Theatre Royal Bath and an adaptation of Julius Caesar at the Globe Theatre in London, and also taken advantage of the National Theatre’s live cinema broadcasts with a trip to watch Frankenstein on the big screen.
