Creativity is at the heart of all that we do and the creative arts enjoy a strong profile in the School – from music, theatre and art to design and technology, film and theatre technology. Our aim is to provide the time and space, and the encouragement and guidance to enable our pupils to make their own mark on the creative life of the School and beyond.
Our campus is home to the Tom Wheare Music School with its state-of-the-art concert hall and recording studio, and the Coade Hall, where a rich and vibrant programme of theatre and film is curated. The Don Potter Art School offers specialist areas for pupils to explore and hone their talents in a diverse range of mediums, such as drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, photography, printmaking and textiles. Our Grade II listed design and technology building houses spacious, well-equipped design studios, CAD facilities and workshops that allow pupils the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the designing and manufacturing process.
Our pupils continually push the boundaries of their creative work and we thoroughly enjoy witnessing what they achieve both at school and beyond. We have a long history of developing creative talent, most notably, Sir Terence Conran, Lucian Freud, Sir Mark Elder and Sir John Eliot Gardiner.
