Canadian international hockey player coaches Bryanston teams

On Monday 8 December members of the Bryanston girls' hockey club were treated to a coaching session with Canadian international hockey star Abigail Raye.

This session was excellent and the Bryanston girls were clearly delighted, following her every word. Abigail ran a number of skills based and fun exercises and at the end of the session she donated some Canadian clothing and a hockey stick, which will be awarded to one of the girls at the 1st XI dinner next term.

Abigail, who is British by birth, emigrated to Canada and and gained her citizenship in 2005. Since then she has represented Canada in over 100 international tests, debuting in 2009 vs Ireland. She is a central defender and has become a key player in the Canadian team. This season she has been playing club hockey in the Belgium league and she returns to Canada later this month for the Christmas break and international duty in January.

We would like to wish Abigail all the best in her future career and give huge thanks for the time and expertise she shared with Bryanston.
