Bryanston 7s tournament: a fantastic day of rugby

On Sunday, Bryanston held the biggest festival of rugby in the school’s history. This year, the annual Bryanston 7s tournament featured a new U15s competition and also raised money for Wooden Spoon, the children’s charity of rugby.

The U18 tournament saw 24 schools competing and in the U15 tournament we welcomed 10 schools. The quality of teams this year was first rate, with some incredible play on show.

Bryanston U15s did really well against some tough opposition across eight games to end up mid-table. The U18 Barbarian side, which included boys from A2, A3 and B, created some magical rugby moments and competed hard in all their games against first-string sides from other schools.

The 1st VII made it to the semi-final of the main competition, losing narrowly after playing some brilliant 7s, including a convincing victory against Clifton College in the qualifying round for the main competition and wins over local rivals Sherborne and Canford. Given the level of the opposition, this is a superb achievement for the team.

Well done to everyone involved and we look forward to welcoming you all back next year.
