Great results in National Cipher Challenge
Many congratulations to 'Team E-W' (Bertie and Harry Elliison-Wright) who have finished in an exceptional 23rd place in the National Cipher Challenge, a web-based code-cracking competition organised by the University of Southampton.
Throughout the autumn term, as part of the Bryanston ECA programme, 'Team E-W' and 'My Pi is bigger than yours' (Eric Hoang, Oscar Verson, James Bury-Lowe and Henry Ward) competed to crack encrypted communications of increasing difficulty. This year, over 600 teams nationwide attempted to decipher these messages, so to come 23rd in such a field is a really fantastic achievement.
Well done too to 'My Pi is bigger than yours', who also excelled, winning a cash prize for their outstanding work in the third week of the competition.
