Pupils prepare for Ten Tors Challenge
Last weekend pupils took part in their final training session before the Ten Tors Challenge, which takes place in May.
Training sessions have involved a navigation day on Martin Down, near Salisbury. Pupils also had to complete what has been nicknamed 'The Beast', a 25km speed march along the Wessex Ridgeway back to school, as well as two overnight camps in the wild on Dartmoor.
Pupils have successfully walked over 100km during their training, which is quite an achievement for year C, who are arguably performing above the standard required for the Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award.
A team of six will now be selected from the remaining 11 pupils to take part in the Ten Tors Challenge and represent the school for the 35-mile expedition in two-weeks time.
Good luck to all the pupils involved, who should be very proud of what they have achieved this year.
