A2 Charity weekend

This year's A2 Charity Weekend proved to be a great success.

The Head Boy and Head Girl (Molly Biddell and Sam Heffer), on behalf of the A2 year group, chose to support The Rainbow Trust Children's Charity and they introduced this to the school in an excellent assembly on Friday . The Dance Show added an additional  focus to the weekend and a full programme of events was laid on for Sunday, including the largest lunch ever for A2 parents (catering for over 100 people). There was also a successful silent auction for parents, and promises auction in the evening for pupils.

The day saw the revival of the tug of war competition, won by Harthan and Shaftesbury, an art display in Cowley and later on the lighting of the Aragorn Sculpture in the grounds. In addition there was a film, an acoustic  concert, busking and a football competition, all supported by endless supplies of bacon butties, sweets, cakes, cream teas and drinks.

Huge thanks to so many of the A2 year who did so much, and to Molly and Sam, who did an amazing job throughout the weekend in all areas and who delivered an excellent outcome. The fund raising target set was £10,000 and it looks as if this will be achieved once all money has been collected - a fantastic achievement.

If you were unable to join us for the A2 Charity Weekend and would still like to support the pupils in their fund raising efforts, then you can donate to the weekend via their JustGiving page at https://www.justgiving.com/A2charitiesweekend2015.
