A2 music recital

As they enter their final term at Bryanston, A2 pupils Charlotte (oboe) and William (piano) gave a superb joint recital in the Elder Concert Hall on Wednesday 29 April at 8.15pm.

Charlotte started with two highly contrasting pieces, Arioso by Fiocco, followed by Pan from Six Metamorphoses after Ovid by Benjamin Britten. William followed on with a charming and less well-known piece called Rustle of Spring by Sinding and Passepied by Debussy.

Charlotte returned to give a beautiful performance of Sonata for Oboe and Piano Op166 by Saint-Saëns (I. Andantino, II. Allegretto and III. Molto Allegro). William followed with a jaw-dropping performance of the virtuoisic piece Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 (I. Lassan, II. Friska) by Liszt.

Thanks of course to the two amazing A2 students, to Graham Scott for his wonderful accompanying and to Anne Law and Jack Lambert (Charlotte’s and William’s teachers). Also, to the heart-warming number of pupils who came to give their support in such a kind and warm manner – thank you!
