Spring OB networking breakfast
Ten OBs braved the travel chaos brought on by the recent snowfall to attend the spring Beyond Bryanston business networking breakfast, hosted by Eric Benedict (C ’78) at Alix Partners's offices in New Bridge Square, London.
A lively discussion was sparked by our guest speaker, Jonny Fianu (C ’03), with his talk on the future of big data and blockchain technology.
There was some great expertise in the room from both the financial and technical sides, with interesting discussions taking place around the demise of credit cards in the next five years and the evolution of distributed ledger technology being able to vastly reduce the cost of financial transactions across the globe.
For those who would like to continue to delve into this very hot topic, expressions of interest are invited to see a streamed panel debate in the near future. Email email@example.com if you would be interested.
We are looking forward to our next business breakfast in the City on 10 May with Tom Woollard (C ’12) and Harry Stirling (Sh ’12), who will be talking about Bunk, their start-up company and the journey to becoming major disrupters in the property rental market.
