Bryanston pupil enjoys wild swimming to fundraise for IMKAAN
A3 pupil Georgia M is fundraising for IMKAAN by going wild swimming every day during lockdown.
IMKAAN is a UK-based organisation dedicated to addressing violence against black and minoritised women and girls.
Since Sunday 17 January, Georgia has been swimming in local lakes with her brother – either in the mornings before online lessons start, during the evenings, or at the weekend. Georgia hopes to continue her wild swimming every day until the current lockdown ends.
When asked why she had chosen to fundraise for this charity, Georgia commented: “I was inspired to do something challenging to try to make a difference to women who are victims of domestic violence. Unfortunately, due to the national lockdown, these women are more at risk and struggle to escape or safely move out.”
