Bryanston U14s Crowned County Cricket Champions

In an exhilarating showdown at Ferndown Wayfarers CC this Wednesday, Bryanston's U14 cricket team showcased their prowess, clinching the County Championship title after triumphing over Sherborne.

The day began with Bryanston batting first. The opening duo, Dunne and Appleby Ingram, exhibited a masterclass in restraint and technique. Faced with Sherborne's talented bowlers, they adopted a circumspect approach, steering their team to 26 in the first 6 overs. The drama unfolded when Dunne was unfortunately run out in a bid for a second run, setting the stage for Golding's entrance.

What followed was nothing short of inspiring. Golding and Appleby Ingram stitched together a pivotal partnership, driving the ball confidently around the ground. Boundaries seemed to flow with ease as they dominated the Sherborne bowlers. The pair amassed 40 crucial runs before Golding, after a valiant 24 that boasted three fours and an impressive six, was caught.

Yet, Appleby Ingram remained undeterred. He continued to exhibit class and maturity, reaching his half-century with an impressive six over mid-wicket. Thanks to his stellar innings and the team's combined efforts, Bryanston set a competitive target of 125 in 20 overs.

The Bryanston U14s have truly done their school proud, showcasing not just their cricketing talent but also their spirit, determination, and teamwork. The celebrations post-match and the sea of proud Bryanston supporters is a testament to the importance of this victory. As the sun set over Ferndown Wayfarers CC, it was Bryanston's day to shine.
