New useful reading for new parents

Parents who live abroad, or who spend much of their time out of the country, are required to provide the School with the name and address of a UK based Guardian who can accept responsibility for the pupil, including at weekends and Exeats, during any period of illness, suspension from school, or school closure, and also for travel arrangements. Please provide as many contact details as possible, including mobile phone numbers.

Your child is likely to be taking part in rugby or hockey during the next academic year and, following the advice of the Rugby Football Union and England Hockey, we strongly recommend that all pupils participating in these sports should be fitted with a custom mouthguard.

Due to Covid-19 we are currently unable to offer this however should government guidelines permit, we will offer this in the Autumn term.

OPRO, a dental organisation that specialises in mouthguards, will visit the school on TBC from 8pm in the medical centre. This will give everyone, including wearers of fixed braces, the opportunity to have a dentally fitted mouthguard at a reasonable cost. If your child already has a mouthguard, please check that it still fits as this is an important factor in the effectiveness of a mouthguard.

If you would like to take advantage of this service, please place your order direct with OPRO online or by phone, remembering to state your child is a Bryanston pupil and will be fitted at a school visit. To view a full selection of designs and prices please visit

Payment for the mouthguard will be charged to your school bill.

For orders and any queries you may have, please deal directly with OPRO.

School Coaches

Parents may book coach services to and from Bryanston at the beginning and end of terms, half-terms and on exeat weekends. Timetables and details of services for the Autumn term 2021 are available here.

Reading list for D pupils

We encourage all new D pupils to read at least two books from the bronze reading list to begin developing their Bryanston Reading Passport. You can view the bronze reading list here. This list is sorted by reading level and genre and covers a range of reading abilities and interests. We subscribe to the Accelerated Reader programme as part of our literacy focus and all D pupils will be expected to do a STAR assessment in the Autumn term to determine their reading level. Then pupils will be given the opportunity to read a book appropriate to their reading level and they'll be encouraged to read at least twenty minutes a day and complete a quiz. Top picks from School Librarian, Mrs Minter and Accelerated Related Friday Flyer.
