CREST is a UK award scheme recognising success, building skills and demonstrating personal achievement in STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) project work.
At Bryanston pupils of all ages undertake theoretical and practical research projects in their spare time, mentored by Bryanston staff. Projects have ranged from wind turbine design to the impact of pedigree dog breeding, from water quality testing to ion thrust rockets.
A growing number of our pupils have achieved awards up to and including prestigious gold awards. Two projects have reached the national finals at the Big Bang Fair, one on quantum mechanics and one involving the writing of an App for solving maths problems. UCAS endorse CREST Awards for inclusion in pupils’ personal statements – they are well regarded, high quality and a tangible recognition of success.
