A2 pupils join forces for recital

On 17 May, Sophia E and Eric H gave a splendid A2 Recital on saxophone, piano, and viola.
The programme opened with a first performance, comprising Sophia's A level composition scored for three saxophones. This was followed by a sensitive reading of Finzi's wonderful Eclogue in the arrangement for two pianos by Howard Ferguson. Virtuoso saxophone solos by Demersseman and Piazzola followed, Debussy's beautiful Sarabande from Pour le piano, an unaccompanied viola movement by Reger, and finally, Eric and Sophia joining forces for Rachmaninov's Vocalise.
