A3 Music Scholars Concert

An impressive A3 Scholars’ Concert took place on Wednesday 18 January in the Elder Concert Hall.

Rory H began the concert with the piano piece Automne by Chaminade. India S performed Three Swedish Dances by Bruch on the violin. Lotte T sang two songs, When Icicles Hang by the Wall by Quilter and I Got Rhythm by Gershwin.

James R played Copland’s, Jazzy on the piano. Charlotte H sang Meadowlark from The Baker’s Wife by Schwarz. Rory H performed Gregson’s 3rd movement (Divertimento) on the trombone. Samantha H played the 2nd movement (Andante) of Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto especially arranged by Head of Strings, Christina Scott, who also performed as a violinist with Samantha. James R returned to sing Songs of Travel by Vaughan Williams: Whither Must I Wander and Bright is the Ring of Words. Charlotte H returned to perform Chopin’s Nocturne in E minor op 72 on the piano. Bertrand EW ended the concert with the 3rd movement of Schumann’s Sonata on the clarinet.
