Junior Ensemble Concert
A lovely Easy Listening Concert took place on Thursday 24 November at 1.35pm in the Elder Concert Hall
The Junior Flutes began the concert under the direction of Eleanor Jackson, performing Gershwin’s Summertime. The Rhythm & Blues Band played I Wish by Stevie Wonder. The Concerto Orchestra was conducted by Christina Scott. They performed Walking in the Air from the Snowman Suite by Blake, and Ennio Morricone’s well-known piece, Gabriel's Oboe. Well done to the violin soloist Poppy OR. The Clarinet Group played Maple Leaf Rag by Scott Joplin. The Baroque Ensemble played in a contrasting style, Combatti da Forte from the opera Rinaldo by Handel. A Piano Trio followed (Violin: Christopher A, Cello: Serena F) with Valse Russe from Miniatures by Bridge. The B Saxophone Quartet ended the concert with I Got Rhythm by Gershwin.
Huge thanks to all of the performers for providing us with a lovely concert and also to our select audience for coming to support.
