Greenpower Challenge team compete at Goodwood
On Sunday 19 June Bryanston’s Greenpower Challenge team, Team Impulse, raced at Goodwood race circuit, finishing in the top 25% and qualifying for the international final early in the autumn term.
Team Impulse have been modifying and improving their car this year and achieved a fantastic result in this latest heat, placing 21st in their class out of a total of 70, even managing to beat more experienced teams. The weekend’s result proved the car’s reliability and that several modifications carried out recently have had a positive impact.
Congratulations to all the team members, Louis E, Joe W, Tom W, Arthur G and Tom B, who have all been involved in building the car, preparation and driving. On the day they worked hard, were organised and applied their skills, and thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of the day.
The team is indeed heading in the right direction and we look forward to hearing more of their progress soon.
Thanks must also go to all the staff who have supported the pupils in the workshop, particularly the invaluable input of Tony Blunt (builder, mechanic and fount of all knowledge regarding welding), whose knowledge, commitment and experience certainly helped the team achieve their fantastic result. Thank you also to those who helped organise behind the scenes; the permissions, paperwork and planning required for a day like this is quite a task.
